What do you do with a broken heart?

Hmmm?

On a day like today, with the groans of making room for my 15 year old to spread his wings…with Mother’s Day on the rise and mine lives in a nursing home…with the press of time, panting at my calves salivating…I take a walk.
I talk to my Mom as I walk. This is what I saw.
What do you do?

HI! I came over from Kathy’s Up North blog…love your photos, especially the light shining through the tulip poplars. My Mom is gone, so I know something of your loss, not having her nearby. Even though she’s still here, in a nursing home, you’ve suffered a loss of the Mom you knew. Those of us without our Moms just need to get through this holiday. And carry on.

I’m sorry that your mom is in a nursing home. And that Dawn’s mom is gone. Just walked with my girlfriend yesterday (who has lost both parents) and wondered what it’s going to be like to lose mine. This morning I called them both to tell them my blog made the front page of WordPress. Silly, a 52 year old woman calling her parents to tell them such a thing! And yet someday they won’t be around…

What do we do with a broken heart? …I don’t know, but am sitting here feeling yours right now and wishing I could hug you.
