This is one of those blogs where you take your shoes off, stand up and sing with Natasha Bedingfield.
Can you read and dance at the same time?
I wanna know, because that is what I am doing.
I got this video from my friend Lissa Rankin who has a very good thing going here.
Until my next post, I will be drifting NYC my my husband during these last 4 days of our marriage improving 10 days on our own while the kids have a fantastic time away from us with our German family. Thanks to Ursula and Werner, we have spent 6 days so far, speaking in uninterrupted sentences. It is a miracle.
And we really miss our kids.
So, if they are reading this post, just know you are loved with the vastness of this galaxy and beyond.
Travel safe and well, wherever you are.
All my love for this New Year,
S
I am a relatively new blogger.
This week, I am working my social media muscles. I even started a Twitter account. See that blue birdy over there? If you click on it, you can choose to follow my Tweets- little avian inspirations for you from the Laundry Line.
And I have learned what a Meme is.
meme/mēm/Noun
1. An element of a culture or behavior that may be passed from one individual to another by nongenetic means, esp. imitation.
2. An image, video, etc. that is passed electronically from one Internet user to another.
Wikipedia – Dictionary.com – Answers.com – Merriam-Webster
Over at the Empress’ site, I saw an enticing meme for mommy bloggers I decided to follow through on.
Alexandra, The Empress is a Mom and blogger. She posts at Good Day, Regular People.
Here’s what you do:
Ask your child to draw a picture of you. It doesn’t matter how old they are…
Post the picture on your blog
Call it the ‘This is Me Meme’
Go here and add your cartoon likeness to the linky.
Here is what Catherine drew last night.
I will not comment except to say, I like my hair. Very Wild Soul-ish. As you can see, she gets me. And I am flattered, even if my nose is not quite so long. I like the necklace.
Then? I have been waiting to post this gift I got from my cousin Alice Ann.
I wish the scan would show you the gold words in the center better. It says “Ocean”. Alice made it for me from things on her desk. And mailed it to me with the best letter ever. Here on my desk it has taken on a prayerful presence, as I send love to Japan, to the waters of this planet, to all ocean beings from the krill to the whales.
All I needed to learn about Love, I learned from a handful of people. First and foremost is my husband, about whom I will write sometime this month.
Practically every person who has crossed my path has taught me something about love, about proper use of the word, about permission and about the rampant self sowing love that coats this planet in healing.
Then, my Mom- for whom dozens of daffodils are about to bloom right now in my yard.
Next, Mama Gena- who’s Daily Fluff I share with you right here.
Mama’s Daily Fluff: It requires the most inspiring kind of courage to accept that what you have is good.
And, Jill Rogers, creator of The Seven Sacred Steps. I wear a silver open heart around my neck that she gave me. This reminds me at all times to open my heart, whatever the situation.
Do you want a dose of L for Love today? Go to the nearest mirror or reflective surface and wink at yourself. Then, catch the eye of the next person that you pass and give them one of those gorgeous smiles you have stored in your mouth. The world is hungry for your loving.
Here are some of my dearest Loves, members of my Moon Circle. They are a major Love Battery for me and I am so grateful for them in my life.
Here is JB and me canoeing on Lake Lila.
“He alone is great who turns the voice of the wind in to a song made sweeter by his own loving.” Kahlil Gibran
Roger inspires me daily about how to love bigger. He is a Jester.
How does it roll for you in the way of Love? What lights you up? Pray, tell.
All my love,
S

Out of the Mouths of Babes and other Laundry Line Pages to visit.
It doesn't have to be
the blue iris, it could be
weeds in a vacant lot, or a few small stones;
just pay attention, then patch
a few words together and don't try
to make them elaborate, this isn't
a contest but the doorway
into thanks, and a silence in which
another voice may speak.
Like Suzi Birdsall says, “I love a manifesto because it has manifest in it”!
